...Cousin Love...

Last night Brad, Sawyer and I visited my brother, Shelli and baby Dublynn. Sawyer has a slight obsession with kissing babies, kids and adults she is comfortable with. Her kisses are not sweet and soft. Most of the time she is aggressively going in for a kiss with her mouth wide open, whether you are ready or not. It is so endearing to watch and to receive one of her saliva filled kisses. Anyhow, Sawyer of course wanted to just kiss and hug baby Dublynn the whole time we were visiting. We hope that she out grows this obsession before she turns 16! : )

Whistle Blower

Sawyer spent about 10 minutes the other day cracking up at herself as she was trying to blow a whistle. Here is a short clip of her laughing at herself.

Dublynn Ava

On Sept. 12, 2010 by brother Dennis became a daddy! Dublynn Ava Enright is named after my brother's grandfather who was born in Dublin, Ireland. This is Sawyer's first cousin on my side of the family. We have seen her twice and can't wait to spend more time with her in the future. We love you Dublynn

Sawyer at the Farm

Brad recently had Sawyer for the day and had to make a quick trip into work. Brad's work, Boy's Republic, has a farm on grounds. They not only raise cows, chickens and sheep, but they grow beautiful organic fruits and veggies. Brad took Sawyer over to visit with animals. Sawyer loves animals and when Brad isn't around I am teaching her that animals are our friends, not our food! ;). JK

Seattle Visit

Well I have been no friend to our family blog, but I am back! To finish where I left off in August the next family event to blog about would be our wonderful trip up to Seattle.

(I love Seattle!!!!)

Our very dear friends Nick and Anna Dietzen had their first child Parker Derek Dietzen in July. Our visit to Seattle was to meet little Parker and also spend time with Nick, Anna, JD, Angela and Mason. We had so much fun! We took our first ferry ride, explored the city and hung out at Lake Washington. Life seems to be going so fast. It seems like just yesterday we were all still in college trying to figure out when we were going to do homework during our weekend at the boy's Biola house. We are so thankful to be truckin' through life with great friends like the Dietzens and look forward to their visit at the end of Oct.

summer vacation part 2

After beach glamping we decided to drive down to San Diego to stay with Brad's parents. Sawyer has the best aunt Lyssie and she loves to hang out with her doing big girl stuff such as hang out in her club house. Our very dear friends Alan and Terra also came down for the weekend. Alan has been so special to Sawyer and we are so thankful that him and Terra could come down and spend time with us.
Terra is from the East Coast and has never been to San Diego. We took her to almost every beach in San Diego! We walked on the board walk, road skateboards, ate delicious Italian ice and played in the water. We spent a Saturday at La Jolla Beach. If you know La Jolla you know that the sand in very very fine. So fine sand + a toddler = sand EVERYWHERE. There was no preventing it. Sawyer was one big sand ball. She would just sprawl out on the sand making sand angels. For some reason she also thinks it funny to sit her sandy little tush on you when you are laying out.

One of the places that we went during our stay was Point Loma. We walked down to the cliffs and watched the waves crash on the shore. What a site! I love viewing God's creation and I hope that we can teach Sawyer to love and appreciate what we have been blessed with.

The only phrase that comes to mind when I look at this picture is... of course!!!!!

...beach glamping...

In the beginning of August the family headed down to San Elijo Beach to camp with the Gutierrez family. We have been looking forward to getting away, hanging out by the beach and spend time with the Gutierrez family. Now when you think of camping images of tents, showerless nights and roasting marshmallows over the fire come to mind. Well... think again my friends. We were not camping, we were glamping. Glamorous camping! We had omelets for breakfast and giants shrimp for dinner. Our view from the camp site was awesome too! Sawyer is in love with the Gutierrez family. She even got outfitted in a San Elijo sweatshirt. We had a blast and are so thankful for the time that we spent with the Gutierrez family.

..fourth of july..

I know that I am way late on posting about Sawyer's birthday bash but I will get there...

Fast forward to 4th of July weekend. This is the first repeat holiday for Sawyer! Last year we were still recovering, well I was recovering and we were adjusting to life as parents, a family and a lack of sleep. A year later life is much different from then. Sawyer has graced us with sleep at night, (thank you Lord!) but keeps us very busy during the day. One year ago all that came out of her mouth were cries and spit up. Now she babbles and says " waz iz da?" to everything. One year ago Sawyer could lay in one spot and be entertained by blurry faces (her vision was not fully developed yet) and noises. Now, she entertains us as she runs around the house playing hide and seek, and as she dances to any hint of music or song. I still marvel at the quickness children develop in their first year of life. God's creativity never ceases to amaze me.

I can't exactly recall what we did last year for the 4th so ill just skip to what we did this year. We spent this year down at Lola's house (Brad's mom) along with Nana, Grandpa and Sawyer's cousins, Jazelle and Rianna. We had a great time hanging out with everyone and celebrating our countries freedom and independence.

..Sawyer's 1st birthday..

(The balloon was bigger then her!)

We are so thankful and praise the Lord for Sawyer's first birthday. She has brought so much joy to our lives. Her free, fun loving personality is infectious. Our very dear friend Gaby come over to help us celebrate. Gaby brought Sawyer a balloon, which she loved, and a little birthday cake.

Sawyer was all ready to go to bed as you can tell from the picture

She woke up once she saw the candle and or course tried to touch the flame

Dancing Baby

I know that I am known for my great dance moves and it seems that Sawyer got her rhythm from me. Anytime that she hears music these days her hips just take over!

Washington Vacations

As a family we take a yearly summer vacation to visit friends in Washington. This year things are a little different. We usually visit JD and Angela Dietzen in Spokane while our other friends Nick and Anna Dietzen come over from Seattle. All three of us got married in the same year, 2007 and started this vacation tradition the summer of 2008. The first year we spent a week in a beautiful lake house. It was filled with lots of laughs, wakeboarding and crazy runs up very steep hills. Last year it was a little more low key because we had Sawyer with us and she was only 8 weeks old. JD and Angela welcomed little Mason last November and Nick and Anna are expecting their little man Parker the middle of July. Needless to say vacations have become a little more family friendly. Brad, Sawyer and I are flying up to Seattle in the being of August to meet little Parker. Here are some pictures from our visit last week.
